The Real Crepe Cake
I know this question is pretty far in advance, but if there is something planned I want to make sure I save up for a trip.
Anyone know if the park is planning anything for the Haunted Mansion's 40th Anniversary (August of 2009)? I've seen more clothing pop up, which is nice, but I'm hoping for a lot more merchandise!

So there's this guy BeerMan.
He makes home brew and brought several bottles to CGs party.
As he was passing out cups of his coffee stout, someone asked him about ingredients and I second that. Not because of worrying about taboo items but because I was curious about the beer making process.
He listed the usual suspects and went on to pontificate about cooking and fermenting processes.
All was good and eventually the bottle of Irish Stout was opened.
It was during this pouring that he dropped a bombshell.
Apparently he hadn't listed ALL the ingredients (or at least hadn't called them by their proper name) earlier. The sugar in the coffee stout was lactose.
Aside from the fact that this is an animal derived product is the fact that I'm lactose intolerant. Consuming it makes me sick.
When I mentioned to him that he really needed to more clear in the future about ingredients, he shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't have time to humor hypochondriacs.
He backed down and insincerely recanted when I and a couple of other people took exception to this.
I find attitudes like this extremely dangerous. What if I was allergic to it? Or if my immune system was severely depressed? Never mind my personal beliefs (like forgetting to mention there was ground pork in a dish you were serving to a practicing Jew).
Fortunately I hadn't drunk much and the fact that I've been strict veg for over a year now helped my body cope and I only had a mild reaction which I managed to mostly counteract with several bottles of water.
Honest mistakes I'm cool with - but a blatant disregard is not acceptable or forgivable.

It is 7 am and i haven't slept...so I could be delutional, but do you know the fake PSA the John does about the 6 saltine crackers? Is there a scene in The Office of Jim and someone (I'm thinking Dwight, or Kevin) competing to eat 6 crackers in a minute with Pam keeping time? I feel like I have seen this actually play out, but I have NO idea where to look for it. I could just be out of my mind. But I feel like this REALLY happened! Gah! Help!

I've created a daily picture community for Jenna Fischer. It's fairly new, but I hope everyone would be interested in joining :)

HUNTSVILLE, ONTARIO—Not content with functionalism, beaver Dennis Messner strives for integration-minded post-modernism.
WASHINGTON, DC—High summer temperatures and ever-increasing levels of U.S. beverage consumption are causing ice cubes across the nation to melt at "an alarmingly unprecedented rate," the U.S. Department of Consumer Affairs reported Tuesday.
WASHINGTON, DC–Vowing to "restore the pristine splendor of America's natural treasures," President Bush Monday unveiled "Project: National Parks Clean-Up," an ambitious program to remove all toxic petrochemical deposits from national parks by 2004.
AUSTIN, TX—Garrett Durning of the Texas Environmental Defense League has spent the last three months campaigning tirelessly for the installation of solar-powered electric chairs in state prisons. "Texas wastes more than 500,000 watts of electricity on every criminal it executes," Durning told reporters Monday. "We live in the 21st century, and it's high time we acted like it. Let's stop depleting our non-renewable fossil fuels. Solar power is a more energy-efficient way to execute the condemned." Durning added that wrist and ankle restraints should be made of hemp rather than leather, the use of which is cruel.

Marla? Get in here. Where the fuck is Diane with my coffee? I sent her out 15 minutes ago for a large cup of fair-trade Ethiopian Dark Roast from the La Paz coffee shop. How hard could it be? You walk your ass to the corner, hand them my Utne Reader travel mug, plunk down the money, and pick up the coffee. Add a little soy milk and two natural-cane sugar packets, and you make sure the lid is tight. That's so simple, even Diane should be able to do it without fucking up.

Here's another fic offering. In case anyone remembers (or cares), my response fic to impish_dragon's challenge, Uberfunky Happy Pills, is almost done.
I'm on the final sense, touch, but I'm breaking it down into two parts.
It's rated "T" so far for adult language and themes.
"I Touch Myself": Part One can be found
