There will probably be more throughout the day. You've been warned.

To illustrate my morning and most of the afternoon:
But why did you change the font?
I didn't change the font.
This isn't our font. This is completely different.
No, this is the same. It's just not in bold.
But it looks completely different.
Oh, it's in 12. We use 11. It's just bigger.
Why did you make it bigger?
I didn't. It came from NY that way. They must use 12. And they bold things. We don't.
I was eventually believed. But my mind. It was still beaten. No one is allowed to talk about General Hospital to me. EVER. Bane of my existance.
But then I got this battered little package from UPS. With a birthday present and letter from some cool people inside. One of those cool people was silly enough to write the letter on stationary from work. Which has his ultraprofessional direct line on it. So of course I called him. And had the fun, gossipy, giggly conversation I needed to snap out of my bad mood morning. Which was even better than getting a present at work.
Neil LaBute play tonight in Westwood! And I might try for Cat Club later cause I totally blew off my rock and roll lifestyle plans last night and stayed home to watch Regency House Party. It's this weird British thing narrated by Richard E. Grant that's half dating game, half social experiment. Fun!

Geez, y'all. I leave the internets unattended for two little days and it blows up! 200 entries I had to go back and read. Shouldn't you all be working, hmmm?
And now... as promised... a thoroughly Disney Birthday and ( 12 on 12! )

Since I have scheduled writing into near impossibleness next week, I figured I'd stay close to home this week and really churn it out, finishing Act I by Sunday. That's still the goal, but um...
Monday: Stayed home, was good, wrote. Yay!
Tuesday: Was going to stay home, be good, and write. But then
playmayt said things like "free parking," "free admittance," and "being compared to Iggy Pop." Come on people. I'm only human. So I went to Safari Sam's last night to see Dead Blonde Girlfriend and loved it, loved Joie, loved all the very sweet musicians I met. Who'd've thunk aspiring rock stars would be such nice boys?
Wednesday: Was going to stay home, be good, and write. But then Davebo said things like "games," and "I'll buy dinner for your birthday," and "pastrami cheeseburger." Ok, I said that last one, but come on people. I'm only human. So I will be eating at The Hat (YAY YAY YAY!) and playing games (only for a couple hours, so I should be able to get a little work done after) at Game Empire in Pasadena. I've never been. Should be fun, and a good short early night.
Thursday: Am hoping to get work done in the evening. Tentative plans to join
playmayt at the Cat Club later cause I haven't been in weeks. I miss it.
Friday: No plans as of right now. Will stay home, be good, and write.
Saturday: Up at 8am, Script Frenzy Write-In at Lulu's on Ventura 9am - 11am, then my first Disney VoluntEars (how cute is that name? as cute as the shirts are ugly, I think.) event in Brentwood 1pm - 4pm, helping with set-up for a kid's charity benefit called "A Time for Heroes." We'll be setting up Princess, Pirates, and reading areas and stuffing goodie bags. Woot. After that I'm debating Harold and Maude at Cinespia, Mason Jennings at the Malibu Inn & the Disney company picnic in Malibu (which no one seems available to come along to,) or staying home, being good, and writing. But who wants to be good on a Saturday night?
Sunday: 10am: Dumplings! at Din Tai Fung, then games in the afternoon. Meeting
jdekay and a dozen others in Pasadena at 7pm for Oceans 13. I really hope it doesn't suck as much as I've heard.
After that begins the crazy week already described. You're only young once, folks, and I'm getting older on Tuesday! Woo-hoo!

chipper
A mysteriously large package arrived on my desk this afternoon. My parents already got me super cool screenwriting software for my birthday, so I was a bit surprised by this. They sent the yellow rice and tea I asked for (silly SoCal groceries not stocking the good stuff) but also shoes and awesome books and great jewelry made by my Mom and a SF Giants Mr. Potato Head. That last one. I cannot contain the joy. Impossible.
Oh, and I got a call this morning about a gameshow that
molly_drew recommended me for! I'll be auditioning for Merv Griffin's Crosswords next Wednesday at 1pm. YAY! I have a really light schedule this week, which is good because then I should be able to get Act I DONE, provided I don't slack too much, but next week looks crazy!
Monday, June 11th-- The Nemo Subs ride opens! Also
gypsie_pie's birthday! And "Big Love" starts up again on HBO! YAY ON ALL THREE COUNTS!
Tuesday-- Disneyland for my birthday! YAY!
Wednesday-- Work in the morning, game show audition in the afternoon.
Thursday-- I'm gonna eat some lasagna pizza and see Knocked Up! Apatow and Rogen FTW!
Friday-- Disneyland with my cousins from NorCal. Also Davebo's birthday!
Saturday-- My childhood best friend's birthday! Also writing in the morning with other Script Frenzy participants, road rally in the afternoon, and cake and presents and games in the evening. I've been told this party is not an option and I will need to skip both Strawberry Alarm Clock at the Malibu Inn and Rebel Without a Cause at Cinespia to attend. Alright. If I must.
Sunday-- Brunch at the Scientology Centre with
sinca,
playmayt, and
sweetcynic23 if we're still doing it and someone wants to get reservations. Girls? After that, possibly Disneyland.
AFTER THAT, I DIE. Seriously, folks. Anybody got a body I can borrow to tide me over through all this awesomeness? Cause really, I'm looking forward to it all, but why did I forget to schedule time to sleep?

LCD Soundsystem is playing the El Rey on my birthday, June 12th for those of you who don't have it marked on your calendars already. Yay! Tickets are not available online. Boo. I think they're sold out. Boo squared. Ebay is not behaving and helping me search for them. Boo to the third.
Ebay hates me. It hates my birthday. Therefore it also hates Anne Frank, Vic Damone, George H. W. Bush, and Michael Muhney. Cause it's their birthdays, too.
But I am not defeated! I will return this afternoon to do battle with the ebay again. And I will emerge victorious!
They will be mine. Oh yes. They will be mine.
Unless they're not. Y'know. Other options. But still. It would be fun.
